Research data management at the University of Magdeburg

The digital transformation, which is also becoming increasingly noticeable in science, is increasingly creating new challenges for researchers, particularly in the handling of research data. The majority of research data is now available in digital form. This opens up new possibilities for exchanging data with collaboration partners during research projects and then making it available for further use in the long term.

This not only helps to increase efficiency in the sciences, but also promotes transparency. However, implementation requires adherence to established standards and access to services, some of which are subject-specific, that support the handling of digital research data. The Coordination Research Data Management (RDM) helps OVGU's research groups and joint projects to implement effective RDM tailored to the departments. Current developments at national and international level are taken into account. RDM cannot be a local solution, but only works in good coordination with other players and initiatives that are active in the field of RDM.
